The 5th Roundtable Virtual Meeting on Capital Market Development
held on 4.9.2020
The 5th Roundtable Virtual Meeting on Capital Market Development held it regular quarterly meeting via video conferencing system at 10:00 am on 4 September 2020.
The meeting was chaired by Deputy Minister for Planning, Finance and Industry and Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Myanmar, H.E. U Maung Maung Win, and Commission members of SECM, Department Heads, Officials and Executives from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Central Bank of Myanmar, Internal Revenue Department, Myanmar Institute of Certified Public Accountants(MICPA), Union of Myanmar Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Industry(UMFCCI), Myanmar Private Equity and Venture Capital Association(MPE&VCA), Yangon Stock Exchange, Securities Companies and Listed Companies joined the meeting.
During the meeting, the Deputy Minister and Chairman of the SECM said that the current COVID-19 pandemic hit the progress of the global development so as to launch COVID-19 Economic Relief Plan(CERP) for mitigating economic impact since 27th April 2020, the SECM holds this periodic roundtable meetings, this time is the 5th meeting, with aim to vitalizing the Capital Market since March 2019 and this meeting we will discuss regarding follow-up on foreigners participation, situation of online securities accounts openings, current status of the establishment of Pre-Listing Board and so on and so forth.
