Workshop on Corporate Governance Assessment (Based on ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard)
On 16 to 17 January , 2018 , the Workshop on Corporate Governance Assessment (Based on ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard) hosted by Securities and Exchange Commission of Myanmar (SECM) , Yangon Stock Exchange (YSX), Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA) and International Finance Corporation (IFC) was held at Sule Shangri-La Hotel in Yangon. The goals of this workshop are to raise capacity of Myanmar companies corporate governance, to support for capital market development, to protect investors in securities market and to verify in accordance with the ASEAN assessment method for difference between the current practices of the Corporate Governance in Myanmar and the International practices of Corporate Governance.
All of 60 including the responsible persons from the SECM , YSX, DICA under management of the Ministry of Planning and Finance and all of 32 including the Public and Private Companies and IFC attended to this workshop.
At the workshop, the experts of Corporate Governance from IFC shared their knowledge and discussed about the facts of importance , reasons, key roles and responsibilities of involved in processing and comparison with current applied Corporate Governance practices in Myanmar and ASEAN practices.
