The office of the Securities and Exchange Commission was opened on 24 February 2015 and endeavored to open the first-ever Yangon Stock Exchange in Myanmar.

Although the Yangon Stock Exchange was successfully opened on 9th December 2015, the First Myanmar Investment Public Co., Ltd (FMI) could start shares trading on 25th March 2016 over two months of opening Yangon Stock Exchange.The second listed shares trading of Myanmar Thilawa SEZ Holdings Public Co., Ltd (MTSH) was started on 20th May 2016 and the third listed shares trading of Myanmar Citizens Bank Ltd. (MCB) was started on 26th August 2016 , the fourth listed shares trading of First Private Bank Ltd (FPB) was started on 20th January 2017 , the fifth listed shares trading of TMH Telecom Public Co.,Ltd(TMH) was started on 26th January 2018, the sixth listed shares trading of Ever Flow River Group Public Co., Ltd(EFR) was started on 28th May 2020 and the seventh listed shares trading of AMATA Holding Public Co.,Ltd(AMATA) was started on 3rd June 2021.

The life of Yangon Stock Exchange is very nascent and the implemented staff, securities companies, listed companies and individual investors need more knowledge and experiences of capital market.

The Securities and Exchange Commission who is responsibilities to closely supervise and conduct the necessary rules and regulations together with the local and foreign consults to treat requires for short-run and long-run strategies that strengthening capital market development in Myanmar.

All of the market participants, the listed companies, securities companies, investors in the first-ever Yangon Stock Exchange of Myanmar and the people interested in securities investment are the same spirit and cooperation with the supervision of the Securities and Exchange Commission shall emerge our willingness of capital markets.
