Regional Seminar on Developing Quality Securities Markets in Emerging Asia

Regional seminar on developing quality securities markets in emerging Asia that jointly organized by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Myanmar and the Asian Development Bank was held at Sule Shangri-La Hotel in Yangon.

On behalf of SECM Chairman, Daw Tin May Oo, member of SECM delivered the opening speech and Mr. Kosintr Puongsophol, the financial sector specialist gave an extended introductory to the audience.

The seminar was attended by the members of SECM, officials from the Ministry of Planning and Finance, Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, Ministry of Industry, Central Department of Small and Medium Enterprise Development, representatives from the member countries of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, Asia Development Bank and resource persons from international organizations

The 4-day seminar was discussed international best practices in developing primary and secondary markets of the stock exchange, attracting and protecting investors in the securities market, strengthening securities market integrity and transparency, potential of market-based financing for SMEs.
